~Les Mis~

Last Saturday I went to see "Les Mis" at the school. At first I was hesitant about if it was going to be good, I had never seen a continuous opera play before. But I heard a lot of good reviews of it and when I finally saw it I was blown away, it was far better than I had heard or even expected. The reason this play was so spectacular was mainly the singing. The voices were so wonderful, they expressed the mood of the song perfectly and the singers could hit each note to the exact, high or low. Another reason this play was so wonderful was because of the acting, though they had little to work with and not a ton of room to move around they made it work wonderfully. The only part of the play I thought wasn't wonderful was when Jarvet jumps off the bridge. I know they couldn't really have him jump from a height, but he should have fallen and not just stood there yelling, that part was a bit goony. All together though this play was beautifully done and the actors and actresses are Broadway worthy.

*HOGAN'S HEROES*

Why is it that older shows are generally funnier and better than today's comedy shows? Mainly because now a day shows have jokes and lines are mostly crude and hurtful to someone. But the older shows have good clean jokes and aren't morally cruel. One of the best shows ever is Hogan's Hero's. Placed in a P.O.W. camp in Germany during WWII, the Allied prisoners run a mission in the camp to bring down the Third Rights. The characters have the most distinct and hilarious personalities. Especially Carter, there is always a stupid guy in every show even now a days, but Carter is stupid common sense but a bomb and chemical genius. Than there is the English man NewKirk, he is the sarcastic one Known for his thievery he can pick almost any lock, or sneak a peak at any secret document of the Germans. Than LeBeau the little French man is the spunky one with a strong love of women and France, a true French man. Kinchloe is a radio technition for the group, he is really the realistic thinker of the bunch. If something is wrong with the plan he brings every one back to the reality of the situation. Than there is Colonel Robert Hogan the leader of the group and operations that go on in Stalag 13. He comes up with the ideas and plots to figure out each mission the Allies assign to the group. He is a cunning man, and with all of these personalities together along with the stupid German comadant Klink makes this show a genius masterpeice of hallariousity.

***ADRENALINE RUSH***

Last Saturday night there was a D.A.R.E. party at the Rec Center and I was working that night. Let's just say it was a very busy and stressful party. About half way through the party a little girl went off the diving board and came up crying. Leona, who was in the deep chair, went over to check her out and see if she was hurt. She blew a long whistle and put the little girl in a spinal position and started over to a more shallow area. The guard on break ran out and told me, who was right next to the deep end, to get in because I had a tube. Though I didn't need one because we board in the 5 foot at the Rec I didn't complain though and got in.
Soon as that long whistle sounded my adrenaline went sky rocketing but this was my first in the water rescue and so as I went swimming over to Leona and the girl my adrenaline was going into space. Wow it was so cool. So why is it so cool and such a crazy feeling when you have an adrenaline rush? Well one your brain is sending dopamine through your body to strengthen and power it up to do what is needing to be done. So this makes your body feel kind of supermanish, and invincible. It's also different and refreshing feeling, and quite addicting. After I told my brother who also us to be a lifeguard about it he told me I was going to turn out like him and craze the adrenaline, well now he's a fireman and has those rushes a lot. Adrenaline is so much like a drug, and there's a lot more pulsing through you when someone's life is at stake, than just before your event at a swim meet which is all I'm really use to. So adrenaline is such a cool feeling because your body's going crazy and your mind is clear and focused, which rarely ever happens.

~-Solitaire-~

Why is solitaire so distracting? Every time I go to do my homework on the computer I always end up playing a game a solitaire, than once I have begun it is really hard to stop even after I have won. So why is it so hard to just stop playing or never start playing the game? It isn't like it's high tech or any thing, it's just so simple and stupid. Then why can't I stop playing? Because it's just like gambling just with out the money. You know you can win, it's right there, you just need that other card. It's because it is so simple that keeps us there, because if you are just a little off you have to win. When ever I play and I'm way off from winning than I have no problems stopping but it's when I'm right there that I can't stop. Also if I win then I think "Oh, I can win again so just one more time than I'll stop." that sounds like an excuse used for so many other things. So if we are so close or done it's human to want to win more, and more.
